Job Overview:
We are seeking an ambitious Controller to become a vital part of our growing company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and play a vital role in the overall strategy of the company. As a leader, you will encourage innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, provide solutions to accommodate growth and expansion, and support creativity in your area of responsibility.

Direct Reports:

  1. Accounts Receivable Specialist; Accounts Payable Specialist

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Reviews and updates company policies and procedures related to all information/financial systems, financial reporting, internal controls, accounts receivable and accounts payable to maintain business effectiveness, risk mitigation, and ability to handle company growth.
  2. Maintains full responsibility for the accounting department, including general ledger, job costing, WIP tracking, and reporting, financial statements, and other accounting methodologies needed to maintain accurate and relevant information.
  3. Manages all accounting related KPI’s as established.
  4. Oversees the completion and approval of all monthly and quarterly tax reports/payments, business license renewals and annual federal and state tax reporting.
  5. Ensures timely completion of monthly financial reports and oversees completion of closing procedures, adjusting journal entries, job cost and WIP billings.
  6. Prepares monthly borrowing base calculations and projections for the bank.
  7. Monitors debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
  8. Ensures executive team and key mangers receive timely, effective, accurate, and easily understood financial results and reports and provide feedback and guidance to departmental managers when necessary.
  9. Develops and implements financial tools that communicate information effectively thought the ERP system and company to facilitate a cohesive working relationship and information flow between departments.
  10. Facilitates and coordinates the completion of the company annual budget by producing budget to actual results, forecasts and projections for the upcoming year utilizing trend analysis, key ratios, KPI’s and other budgeting techniques.
  11. Provides leadership, direction, and training to all direct reports and departmental managers as needed.
  12. Hires, trains, and manages performance of all accounting staff. Establishes goals and monitors performance to ensure achievement.
  13. Mentors all direct reports and departmental managers when necessary to achieve and sustain an efficient, cohesive, and effective financial team.
  14. Provides analysis, counsel, interpretation and communication of financial information, trends and forecasts to assist is management decision making.
  15. Builds financial models to support new company initiatives/objectives and recommend processes and necessary steps to begin working towards achievement of them.
  16. Provide financial leadership, open communication and direction to operations, sales, and executive management keeping the company’s goals and objectives at the forefront.
  17. Provides feedback and recommends ways to minimize departmental expenses and capitalize on opportunities to increase profitability.
  18. Manages the company ERP system and other financial tools by learning the systems and documenting workflows surrounding them.
  19. Regularly evaluate the accounting department and continue efforts of process development/improvement, risk management and internal control maintenance to facilitate efficiency, effectiveness, and better communications across departments.
  20. Provides asset acquisition and disposal information to executive management for decision making and sales information.
  21. Oversees the onboarding of new equipment acquisitions and disposals of equipment sales.
  22. Coordinates with financial partners and other third parties to ensure timely preparation of the annual financial statements and tax returns, insurance audits and other bank required audits as deemed necessary.
  23. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

     Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA is required.
  • 5 or more years of experience in public accounting setting, Assistant Controller or Controller in a for profit company.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge of general accounting rules, GAAP.
  • Previous experience utilizing accounting or ERP systems.
  • Well organized with a keen attention to detail.  Follow up and follow through. Analytical thinker.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed to meet daily, monthly, and annual deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with others at various levels within the organization as well as independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to problem solve and dynamically contribute new ideas within a collaborative office environment.

Work Environment: Dress code is casual. Normal working hours of Monday through Friday (8am-5pm), and on occasion may need to work beyond the normal hours to meet project deadlines.  Some overnight travel (5%) may be required.

Senior Mechanic

Job Summary:
Responsible for the mechanical service, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Perform preventative equipment maintenance
  • Inspect equipment for repair needs
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems
  • Develop repair solutions and repair all types of mechanical systems including: electrical, brakes, steering, suspensions, drive trains, differentials, transfer cases, transmissions, engines, HVAC systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain accurate and complete work orders, job tickets, warranty records, etc.
  • Collaborate with service manager to ensure safe and timely completion of equipment

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience working with mechanical systems and/or heavy machinery
  • Knowledge and familiarity with all facets of mechanical and technical systems
  • Knack for troubleshooting and identifying equipment problems and developing solutions
  • Motivation to complete assigned tasks in a professional and timely manner
  • Ability to adhere to all shop safety procedures
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and technology
  • Willingness to work outside of office hours to meet production deadlines
  • Welding experience a plus
