Jim Howe of Geotechnology Inc. in St. Louis, MO brought Rig Source their Diedrich D-50 on a Morooka MST-800 for refurbishing. Take a look at the results!
Rig Source was provided a wish list by Mr. Howe with many improvements to the D-50 including:
- Re-building the gear box and cylinders
- New tower & water tank
- Adding a wire line winch, rod clamp and break out wrench
- New cab and repainting of the unit
The D-50 returned to service immediately to be a great addition to the Geotechnology equipment fleet, especially with the growing demand for track mounted units in the industry.

This unit is perfect for hauling away the large loads of dirt, gravel and debris used for this job. Rig Source has a wide-range of Morooka crawler carrier units for sale or for rent, along with a variety of replacement rubber tracks and parts. Rig Source Inc. sold Major Drilling two track mounted water tanks for their domestic drilling projects. These IHI IC-45 rubber tracked carriers are fitted with 1000 gallon water tanks and are also able to carry rods and supplies.
In addition to the tracked water trucks, Major Drilling also had Rig Source service and remount two of their Boart Longyear LF70 core drills on IHI IC-45 carriers. Along with a standard remount which, Rig Source added an enclosed party platform and mount a small diesel generator on the front.
Rig Source has a full line of Morooka and IHI carriers suitable for all d rill remounts as well as new and used core drills.
